The Middle Distance Bicycle Club began on 18 August 1993 and is based in Croydon, an eastern suburb of Melbourne. We are not a touring or racing club but somewhere in between. Riders can choose one of four groups of increasing speed -  fastest last. Riides vary from 60 - 160km with a coffee break to let everyone catch up on the latest. Winter rides average 70km, whille in summer distances ramp to 100km+

The club is a fairly laid back and our rules relate primarlily to safety. Rides are well planned and follow a different route every week with a map, directions & profile available. We traverse mainlly semi-rural & rural areas east and north east of Melbourne.
